Role: Assistant Accountant

Location: London (Hybrid working)

Employment Type: Permanent


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle supplier queries and provide timely, accurate responses to all A/P inquiries (from suppliers or internally).
  • Process invoices in Concur, follow up with suppliers as needed, and allocate them to the relevant department and business line with appropriate descriptions.
  • Prepare and process the contractor invoices.
  • Process employee expenses, ensuring rigorous internal controls are applied correctly for all group companies. enforcing global expense policy set by HR.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for several multi-currency bank accounts in NetSuite.
  • Credit card reconciliations in foreign currencies.
  • Prepare the payment run file for multiple entities (in various currencies) for review.
  • Processing pay runs through bank
  • Take full ownership of processing payments for all group companies in various currencies.
  • Provide support during annual audits.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • VAT returns and settlement.
  • Concur maintenance, chart of accounts, supplier coding and invoice approvers list.


Skills and experience required for this role:

  • Finance background with experience in a relevant role.
  • Studying accounting qualification.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive approach to problem solving with an ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Good knowledge of Accounts Payable: overhead and expense coding with management information in mind.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of processes.
  • Good initiative to drive change within the finance team, particularly with process and controls improvements.
  • Excellent excel skills with experience in data manipulation desirable.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in Netsuite / Kimble highly desirable but not essential.
