AVP-Cloud DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, resilient infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and improving the reliability and performance of distributed systems. The role focuses on enabling efficient software delivery and ensuring high system availability across environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure across distributed and virtualised environments

Develop and implement automation for deployment, configuration management, and testing processes

Manage infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code principles and tooling

Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, and proactively address issues

Implement observability practices, including logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks

Troubleshoot complex system and application issues to ensure service continuity

Collaborate with development and product teams to optimise release pipelines and system resilience

Implement security best practices and ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements

Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency

Stay current with emerging technologies, tooling, and best practices in infrastructure and DevOps

Participate in incident response and on-call support rotations where required

Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

At least 7-8 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles

Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and system design principles

Experience with automation and scripting (e.g. Python, Bash, or similar languages)

Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code and configuration management practices

Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration concepts

Strong programming or software engineering skills

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices

Understanding of security, compliance, and operational risk management in production systems
