Business Unit Risk Analyst (MORS)

We have an exciting opportunity to work with one of our prestigious clients, a Tier 1 Investment Bank, as part of their Market & Operational Risk Support (MORS) team. This is a fast-paced role focused on supporting the Business Unit Risk Management function for the Equity and Fixed Income businesses.

You will play a key role in monitoring and managing counterparty and credit risk, ensuring adherence to credit policies, and maintaining a strong control framework to protect the firm’s franchise. The role involves close collaboration with Trading Desks, Sales, and Credit & Market Risk teams, delivering process improvements, automation initiatives, and strategic risk management solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and escalate counterparty and credit risk across Equity and Fixed Income businesses

  • Ensure correct application of credit policies and manage ad-hoc crisis events

  • Conduct market risk scenario analysis, limits tracking, and reporting

  • Maintain a strong control framework and take ownership of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)

  • Act as the primary escalation point for counterparty and non-market risk issues

  • Drive strategic initiatives, including automation and process enhancements

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders

Core Activities

  • Apply credit approval processes and set trade-level limits

  • Monitor exposures by underliers, countries, and portfolio composition

  • Track counterparties’ ratings, concentration risks, and perform ad-hoc credit analysis

  • Lead initiatives to automate margin calculations and improve system workflows

 

 Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of counterparty credit risk and market risk concepts

  • Experience in risk management or credit analysis within financial services

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

  • Familiarity with automation initiatives and risk systems is a plus

This is a permanent full-time position located in London with hybrid working. For this role a valid working permit for the UK is mandatory.

Expectations regarding hybrid working: 
As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the clients' offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our clients' policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our clients now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require. However, some of our clients have now moved up to 4 days and even 5 days in the office and we require candidates to be flexible to meet our client demands.
