Job description

The Data Privacy Specialist will support the Data Protection Officer in overseeing our client’s data privacy programme and its implementation to ensure compliance with Global Data Protection requirements. You will assist in all issues relating to the protection of personal data including the maintenance of Personal Data Inventories, advising on Data Privacy Impact Assessments, Data Rights Requests and Privacy Notices.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deputise for the Data Protection Officer 

  • Inform and advise the company and its employees of their obligations under 

  • data protection law 

  • Provide advice where a DPIA has been carried out and monitor its 

  • performance 

  • Act as a contact point for requests from individuals regarding the processing 

  • of their personal data and with exercising their rights 

  • Cooperate with Data Protection Authorities and act as a contact point for the 

  • resolution of issues 

  • Maintain comprehensive records of processing activities conducted by the 

  • company, including the purposes of processing activities, which can be 

  • published upon request 

  • Monitor effectiveness of data privacy controls, including data inventory, data 

  • privacy by design, third party assurance, data transfers, data rights request 

  • responses and privacy enhanced technologies 

 

Expertise 

  • Strong knowledge of global data protection laws and IT infrastructure 

  • Skilled in translating business needs into practical solutions 

  • Detail-oriented in addressing data privacy and protection issues 

  • Effective in dynamic, multi-functional, multicultural environment 

  • Expertise in privacy by design and data ethics principles 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and influencing outcomes 

  • Solid understanding of privacy risk and control frameworks 

  • Efficient under pressure with a strong sense of urgency 

  • Team player with developed communication and negotiation skills 

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Expectations regarding hybrid working: As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the clients' offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our clients' policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our clients now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require. However, some of our clients have now moved up to 4 days and even 5 days in the office and we require candidates to be flexible to meet our client demands.
