KYC Team lead / Quality Assurance

Contract Type: 12-Month FTC / Permanent
Location: London

We are seeking a highly skilled KYC Team Lead / Quality Assurance to oversee onboarding and quality assurance for complex institutional clients, with a focus on Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs), Money Services Businesses (MSBs), Payment Service Providers (PSPs), Aggregators, and Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs).

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute CDD and EDD for new-to-bank clients across NBFI, MSB, PSP, Aggregator, and EMI segments.

  • Apply deep knowledge of AML policies and regulatory frameworks (UK, EU, FATF, FCA, FinCEN) to identify gaps, renewals, and updates in client documentation.

  • Analyse and validate KYC documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards and external regulations.

  • Source and assess client data from approved public and regulatory databases, following internal methodologies.

  • Identify and verify core entity details, beneficial ownership, control structures, source of funds/wealth, flow of funds, and account purpose.

  • Conduct Sanctions, PEP, and Adverse Media screening using advanced third-party tools.

  • Perform Financial Crime Framework assessments using defined templates, covering AFC policies, CDD procedures, SAR handling, governance, and transaction monitoring.

  • Lead virtual site visits (Controls Calls) to assess the operational effectiveness of clients’ financial crime controls.

  • Compile and submit final CDD packs for Quality Control review, ensuring full documentation and audit readiness.

  • Maintain high standards of quality and compliance throughout the onboarding lifecycle.

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on KYC progress, escalating risks or blockers as needed.

  • Collaborate with Front Office, 2nd Line functions, internal KYC teams, and clients to obtain and verify required documentation.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience conducting EDD on NBFIs and MSBs, with a strong understanding of their risk profiles, standards and policies.

  • In-depth knowledge of global AML/KYC regulations and industry standards.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex structures (corporates, funds, trusts).

  • Background from Payments companies or clearing banks.

  • Expertise in screening tools for PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media.

  • Ability to manage high volumes of data with precision and attention to detail.

  • Skilled in onboarding processes, document verification, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting findings clearly.

  • Proficient in using KYC systems, databases, and workflow tools.

  • Agile and dynamic in nature – ability to collaborate and influence across the business lines.

This is a fixed-term contract/permanent, full-time position located in London. For this role a valid working permit for the UK is mandatory.

Expectations regarding hybrid working: As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the clients' offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our clients' policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our clients now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require. However, some of our clients have now moved up to 4 days and even 5 days in the office and we require candidates to be flexible to meet our client demands.
