Job description
The PMO Manager / Portfolio PMO Lead plays a critical role in supporting and driving the successful delivery of regulatory and strategic change initiatives across a global investment bank. This role ensures robust governance, effective stakeholder engagement, and adherence to Change Frameworks, while embedding best practices in project and portfolio management.
Job requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Governance & Reporting:
Establish and maintain governance structures
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
Develop and maintain reporting standards and dashboards for senior stakeholders.
Portfolio Management:
Oversee a portfolio of 10+ projects/programmes, supporting over 50+ business and 50+ IT resources.
Drive portfolio planning, strategy alignment, and value stream implementation.
Manage project control standards including change control, financials, and risk management.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Lead workshops and forums with global and senior stakeholders.
Facilitate consensus building and decision-making through clear communication and presentation.
Tooling & Systems:
Expert use of Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPM) tools.
Maintain and support SharePoint sites for documentation and collaboration.
Provide training and support Change Tools.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and develop a high-performing PMO team.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and performance management.
Coach and mentor team members on tools, reporting, and governance standards.
Experience & Skills Required:
Proven experience in a PMO leadership role within a global financial services or banking environment.
Strong background in regulatory change delivery and global markets operations.
Deep understanding of trading controls, product inventory, and risk management.
Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale portfolios and complex stakeholder environments.
Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Clarity, SharePoint).
Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in Fund Servicing or similar financial domains.
Familiarity Change Frameworks and governance standards.
Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
