Project Manager - IT

Role Summary

The role will support the Programme Manager in driving projects, administration of the product space, working within the wider Services area of DC.

Role and Responsibilities:

Project Initiation and Planning:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and objectives

• Create detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation

• Configure JIRA projects to align with project methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

• Work to improve existing workflows and issue types to streamline project processes

• Team Management and Collaboration:

• Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment

• Assign tasks and track progress using JIRA's task management features

• Facilitate effective communication within the team and with stakeholders

• Conduct regular team meetings and retrospectives to identify improvement areas

• Champion change and encourage others

Issue Tracking and Management:

• Monitor and prioritise incoming issues and requests

• Assign issues to appropriate team members and track their resolution

• Use JIRA's reporting and analytics features to generate insights into project performance for regular reporting to management

• Identify and resolve project bottlenecks and risks

Process Improvement:

• Continuously evaluate and optimize JIRA workflows and configurations

• Implement best practices and industry standards to enhance project efficiency

• Train team members on effective JIRA usage and Agile methodologies.

Experience and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in JIRA administration and configuration

• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe etc.)

• Familiarity with other Atlassian tools (Confluence) is beneficial

• Experience within the Client Lifecycle Management / KYC space

• Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques

• Experience of working with Developers, QAs, DevOps colleagues

• Familiarity with JAVA based development approaches and applications 

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines  

• Attention to detail and organisational skills

• Leadership and team management skills
