Job description

Purpose of the role:

To lead and support initiatives focused on ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to the calculation, disclosure, and governance of capital adequacy and risk-weighted assets (RWA). This includes maintaining robust documentation and evidence of adherence to regulatory standards across various risk domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong functional expertise across multiple first-line risk areas, including but not limited to: Secured and Unsecured Credit Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA).

  • Maintain a deep understanding of capital and RWA regulatory frameworks, including relevant provisions under CRR, PRA Rulebook, and Supervisory Statements.

  • Analyze complex financial and risk-related data to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.

  • Apply experience in risk management, audit, compliance, or control functions to strengthen governance and oversight.

  • Manage multiple projects and governance activities simultaneously, ensuring effective coordination across cross-functional teams.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, fostering collaboration and alignment.

  • Ensure high standards of accuracy and completeness in documentation, reporting, and regulatory submissions.

Leadership Expectations:

  • Effectively communicate complex and sensitive information to diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders.

  • Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies and contribute to the development of new frameworks and procedures that enhance control and governance.

  • Provide expert consultation on complex issues, supporting leadership in resolving escalations and making informed decisions.

  • Influence stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve desired outcomes.

  • Monitor and track deliverables, proactively managing timelines and ensuring progress against objectives.
