Senior Developer - Backend

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to enhance our API and integrate with our existing system. This role involves working with our API infrastructure and implementing security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the enhancement and modification of our existing API to integrate with existing and new services

• Design and implement secure, scalable backend services and APIs

• Architect and optimize database interactions and data flows

• Implement authentication and authorization frameworks (Keycloak, OpenFGA)

• Develop integration points between our portal and API

• Establish coding standards and best practices for the backend team

• Perform code reviews and mentor mid-level and junior developers

• Troubleshoot complex system integration issues

• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless data exchange

• Document APIs and technical architecture

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of backend development experience

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript for API development

• Experience with Python backend frameworks

• Knowledge of authentication and authorization systems

• Experience with database design and SQL (particularly MySQL)

• API design and development expertise

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Java applications or applets

• Knowledge of keycloak and OpenFGA

• Experience with AWS/EC2 environments

• Understanding of containerization technologies

• Security implementation experience

• Experience with MySQL is considered an asset
