Senior JAVA Developer

Role Summary

This is a great opportunity to join our fast-growing OTC Derivatives Business working with some of the world’s leading financial institutions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior JAVA developer. As a JAVA Developer for our OTC Derivatives business platform, the successful candidate will work directly with our senior developers, project managers and business stakeholders to analyse and implement solutions and to ensure they are able to build quality solutions that Delta Capita (DC) offers. The Candidate should be self-motivated and should be able to work independently on development tasks and actively track work with team members.

The Role and Responsibilities

No day will look the same. This role is ideal for someone with the right mix of development experience, client and stakeholder management experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and experience in driving commercial success. You will combine digital know how, knowledge of the fintech ecosystem, an innovative nature, and a strong knowledge of and network within the financial services industry. 

·        Collaborate with stakeholders and end-users to understand and gather requirements to help develop the optimum solutions and data products.

·        Coordinate and embed technical standards and help other team members to gain knowledge on Java and Calypso development.

·        Ensuring a stable production environment always.

·        Identify the opportunity for automation and continuous improvements and design/build end-to-end solutions.

Skills and Experience

As an experienced JAVA developer, you will have:

·        Proven track records of delivering Java applications and solutions, gained through commercial experience.

·        Experience in all phases of software development lifecycle.

·        Excellent knowledge of Java v8 and onwards, Unix/Linux, SQL (Sybase).

·        Good knowledge of various tools (CI/CD (Jenkins, ANT/Maven build, Ansible), Automation), Open-source technologies and Cloud services.

·        Unix/Linux Shell, PERL or Python scripting.

·        Awareness of DevOps and Pragmatic / LEAN / AGILE development techniques.

·        Knowledge of middleware technologies such as IBM MQ or Solace.

·        Experience of scheduling tools like ControlM or Autosys.

·        Exposure of version control systems such as RTC or GIT and knowledge of JIRA or similar tracking tools.

·        Good to have an experience on Mirco-Service architecture, REST API.

·        Familiarity with DevOps tooling.

It would be great if you:

·        8+ years of IT experience in successfully delivering complex technology solutions within a defined Software/SDLC in Banking industry.

·        Experience in AGILE methodology, status reporting, progress tracking, issues/risks lists and development and release management.

·        Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation and analytical skills.

·        Strong relationship management skills with proven history in dealing with stakeholders and globally distributed project teams.

·        Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven rapid learning capability and takes ownership and pride in delivered work.

·        Experience in working in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

·        Ability to define, collect and analyse metrics for development projects.

·        Knowledge of Calypso as a back-office system, gained through commercial experience with settlements and accounting functionality would be an add-on.

·        Good communication skills both written and verbal.

·        Good to have knowledge of primary market investment banking products, Fixed Income products, OTC Derivatives products.
