Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented TM1 Developer to join our consultancy team, working on client-facing projects that deliver enterprise planning and reporting solutions using IBM Planning Analytics (TM1). This role requires a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work across diverse industries and client environments.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop TM1 models including Cubes, Dimensions, Rules, and TI Processes without relying on wizards.

  • Optimize TM1 performance through efficient cube design, feeder tuning, and rule optimization.

  • Implement and manage TM1 security models including group-based and element-level security.

  • Develop and maintain TM1 reports and dashboards using TM1 Web, Perspectives, and Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE).

  • Integrate TM1 with external systems using TM1 REST API and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl).

  • Work with relational databases such as SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle for data integration and validation.

  • Write and optimize MDX queries and SQL scripts for data extraction and reporting.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative delivery using Scrum, Kanban, or Disciplined Agile methodologies.

  • Provide operational support and maintenance for TM1 environments.

Job requirements

Required Skills and Experience:  

  • Hands-on TM1/Planning Analytics development experience.

  • Strong understanding of TM1 architecture and performance tuning techniques.

  • Proficiency in MDX, SQL, Excel, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

  • Experience with TM1 REST API and scripting for automation and integration.

  • Familiarity with Cognos TM1 v10.2 and Planning Analytics components (PAW, PAfE).

  • Experience in documenting technical and functional requirements.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Exposure to Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) or Test-Driven Development (TDD) is a plus.

This is a full-time contract position located in Sheffield, England. Expectations regarding hybrid working: As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the client’s offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our client’s policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our client’s now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require.
